As you may have heard if you follow me on Facebook, I lost another sister a few days ago. I only have one sister and my oldest brother left. The sister I have left I don’t communicate with. My brother is the one member of the family who has always gotten along with everyone. He just turned 76 on the 18th of November and he has a bad heart. As horrible as it sounds, I was more afraid that Jeannette’s death would upset my brother Tom and affect his health than I was upset over her passing. I knew she’d been ill and in the hospital. I knew she was weak and her health very poor. And when I heard she’d passed I realized her suffering was over, so my next step was to worry about my brother.
But he seems okay. Whew. My daughter, Annicka, will give him a call tomorrow to catch up with him. She’s worried about her Unk too. But we’re okay. Sad, but okay. All of you who have left your condolences on my Facebook account please know that your words and prayers are appreciated.
And now, let’s bring the mood up and give away a book and audiobook! Yesterday, I featured Lucy Felthouse, who offered up a copy of Love on Location in both ebook and audio. And the winner of those books is…Jen CW! WOO HOO!
Today, my featured author is another fellow MLR Press author. Please welcome, Shawn Bailey! Shawn has offered to give away a copy of The Way He Makes Me Feel, a book I did the cover for! Here’s the info on Shawn and his book! Make sure you check out his website so you can see all the other great books he has to offer for MM readers.
Shawn Bailey writes from New Orleans, Louisiana. Shawn is an avid manga and yaoi novel collector and watches a lot of Japanese anime. When she’s not writing, Shawn works as a financial analyst and looks forward to one day retiring, going to writing conferences and traveling to Asia. Of course she will have to get over her fear of flying. She is currently working on several new gay romance manuscripts which she hopes to get published in the near future. Shawn currently writes for MLR Press, Siren-Bookstrand, Phaze Books, Dark Hollows Press and Fireborn Publishing.
Love sometimes means forgetting your fears and taking chances.
Budding mangaka Sage Norton has more fears than should be allowed. He’s afraid to fly, crowds scare him and he’s a bit of an introvert. A big publishing company is trying to get him to sign with them, he wants to do it, but the idea of traveling 67,000 miles scared the shit out of him. That equated to 13 hours and 56 minutes of flight time. Since the airplane crash that took his mother life and almost took his, Sage can’t even pass by the airport or stand to hear an airplane flying overhead without panicking. Then the owner of the company sends his grandson to convince Sage to sign with them. Sage takes one look at the handsome guy with the tailored suit, stylish haircut and who smells like paradise and thinks it’s time to take his older brother Aiden’s advice and give life a chance.
Doesn’t that sound great? For that alone you should leave a comment on this post! But, I promised you all an additional treat and here it is!
Trey Beaumont is cautious, conservative and conventional. As a gay FBI agent, he can’t afford to be anything else. That is, until the day the mailman puts a wedding invitation into the wrong mailbox. When Trey finds two wedding invitations in his mail, one addressed to him and the other to his new neighbor, his cautious demeanor is tested. The new neighbor is none other than the man Trey crushed on in college.
Taking the invitation over to Jordan Smithson’s condo leads to dinner and the discovery that he and Jordan share a lot more than he ever imagined. Not only is Jordan in law enforcement too as an officer with the Seattle SWAT team, he’s also gay. The final shocking discovery is that Jordan had a crush on Trey in college. With their attraction to each other out in the open and sizzling hot even after six years, Jordan asks Trey to step out from behind the conservative front he shows the world and take a chance on them. It’s up to Trey to make a leap of faith, accept his attraction to a man he hasn’t seen in six years, and fly in the face of convention. If he can, all his dreams could come true.
