Today, we’ve got another new to me author, E.M. Denning, who has something kinky for you, and the amazing Layla Reyne, whose Agents Irish and Whiskey series about two FBI agents kept me highly entertained after my surgery. And just cause I can, I’m tossing in a copy of my short MM story Flying in the Face of Convention, which was edited by Sylvia Day and was included in RWA’s very first anthology Premiere!
E.M. Denning is a married mom of three and a writer from British Columbia. She loves her family and her animals and anything cute and fuzzy. She writes romance for the 18+ crowd because she is both a hopeless romantic and a dirty old woman.

A Disillusioned Dom
A Devastated Sub
When Craig walks into the first kink club he’s been in for months, the last thing he expects to see is his former Dom, Tim, wearing a collar. If learning his ex is a switch isn’t shocking enough, Craig quickly finds himself on the wrong side of his ex’s Dom. When the reunion turns ugly, another Dom swoops in and saves the day, and Craig is too shaken to argue when the sweet Dom steps in and takes care of him.
Alan noticed the boy the minute he walked into his club. It was hard not to. He was beautiful, sad, and fully clothed. Once the boy is in Alan’s arms he knows he doesn’t want to let him go, maybe ever. He worries that even though his hardcore Dom days are behind him, his experience will scare Craig and he’ll lose the chance to have something real with him.
Their relationship quickly heats up, but Craig can’t stop wondering if an inexperienced sub will be enough for a seasoned Dom in the long run.

Author Layla Reyne was raised in North Carolina and now calls San Francisco home. She enjoys weaving her bi-coastal experiences into her stories, along with adrenaline fueled suspense and heart pounding romance. When she’s not writing stories to excite her readers, she downloads too many books, watches too much television, and cooks too much food with her scientist husband, much to the delight of their smushed-face, leftover-loving dogs.
Author Tagline: Adrenaline-Fueled Romance
Eight months after the car crash that changed everything, FBI agent Aidan Talley is back at work. New department, new case and a new partner. Smart, athletic and handsome, Jameson Walker is twelve years his junior. Even if Aidan was ready to move on—and he’s not—Jamie is off-limits.
Jamie’s lusted after Aidan for three years, and the chance to work with San Francisco’s top agent directly is too good to pass up. Aidan is prickly—to put it mildly—but a growing cyber threat soon proves Jamie’s skills invaluable.
Jamie’s talents paint a target on his back, and Aidan is determined to protect him. But with hack after hack threatening a high-security biocontainment facility, time is running out to thwart a deadly terrorist attack. They’ll have to filter out distractions, on the case and in their partnership, to identify the real enemy, solve the case and save thousands of lives, including their own.
Trey Beaumont is cautious, conservative and conventional. As a gay FBI agent, he can’t afford to be anything else. That is, until the day the mailman puts a wedding invitation into the wrong mailbox. When Trey finds two wedding invitations in his mail, one addressed to him and the other to his new neighbor, his cautious demeanor is tested. The new neighbor is none other than the man Trey crushed on in college.
Taking the invitation over to Jordan Smithson’s condo leads to dinner and the discovery that he and Jordan share a lot more than he ever imagined. Not only is Jordan in law enforcement too as an officer with the Seattle SWAT team, he’s also gay. The final shocking discovery is that Jordan had a crush on Trey in college. With their attraction to each other out in the open and sizzling hot even after six years, Jordan asks Trey to step out from behind the conservative front he shows the world and take a chance on them. It’s up to Trey to make a leap of faith, accept his attraction to a man he hasn’t seen in six years, and fly in the face of convention. If he can, all his dreams could come true.
This is a short story of 7,000 words, written for the RWA anthology Premiere. It has the anthology theme of a wrong number. It is a friends to lovers, college crush tale that contains a HEA with no cliff hangers.
